Colin’s Poem (Feb 12, 2018 Collection)

Damascus

A city of sand, lifeless and bland,
Terrorized under the wrath of men.
Once, it was lovely, and strong, safe land,
Now, a warzone of fire and death.

The people they hear, the war draws near,
They have but no choice, to flee their homes.
They run from here while, they scream in fear,
T’was literal hell, some break their bones.

They finally find, refuge in Bern,
A safe place to sleep, rows of calm tents.
They vow that one day, when they return,
Their beloved home, will rise again.

I therefore shall plead, to end this fight,
Bloodshed tears their souls, it is robust.
Our flaming hearts shall, shine through the night.
We are all humans, equal and just.
